Moving into tech can drastically transform lives. Imagine going from a low-paid, hourly job, with maybe two-weeks vacation, to a Mon-Fri, doubling or tripling your salary. Imagine a minimum of three-weeks off and paid holidays. The benefits are nearly endless. Everyone should do this, right? They are trying and therein lies the problem.

Tons of people are trying to get into tech but there are not tons of entry-level positions. So, how does someone with no degree or experience get that IT job?

That’s the backdrop of my son telling me he wants to get into tech. It was so much easier back in the day when I still listened to Bat Out of Hell on a cassette player. That proverbial bat moved fast. Entering the tech industry moves much slower these days. Gone are the days of a heartbeat being the main requirement. Now you need certs, a degree, internships and a whole lot of luck just to get a crappy helpdesk job. There’s gotta be a better way.
